About Reshmi Basu’s
Conceived in a family where music and dance are a way of life, Reshmi, naturally showed an inclination towards dancing from a young age. Under the meticulous guidance of Guru Giridhari Nayak, she started her first lessons of Odissi from the tender age of seven. She invested her time and energy to Odissi and spent long hours in practice honing her skills under the seasoned guidance of her Guru. Her passion and determination earned her a place in the prestigious workshop organized by the maestro of Odissi dance, Padmabhusan Shri Kelucharan Mahapatra – where she mastered the various forms of Odissi dancing and Abhinay.
